In its quest to increase innovation, social justice and the quality of the media in Zimbabwe, The Content Creators Network ZW (Content ZW) has set up the Content Creators Start-Up Week lined up with various activities including pitch competitions, networking events and media-related pieces of training.
Media innovators with fresh new ideas will be presented with an opportunity to get a US$ 2000 seed funding for successful pitches that promote social justice and brings attention to prevailing youth issues in Zimbabwe as buttressed by Content ZW Convenor, Samm Farai Monro AKA Comrade Fatso.
“We are so excited to be able to host our first-ever Content Creators Start-Up Week and we can’t wait for inspiring, young innovators to pitch their ideas.”
He further pointed out that the alliance is pointing towards growth and to make this a regular annual event that supports media innovation in Zimbabwe
“We aim for this to become a major annual event which supports the growth of powerful new media start-ups that disrupts the status quo,” said Comrade Fatso.
Content ZW also seeks to bring upcoming media startups and content creators into the same room with already successful media organizations for an exchange programme dubbed Media and Monetization Exchange which strives to debunk issues of media sustainability.
The event is set to run from the 8th to the 12th of November at Moto Republik in Harare. Media start-ups are encouraged to apply with their pitch decks before the 31st of October deadline.
