KWEKWE: Police are investigating a murder case where Learnmore Shonhiwa (29) was found lying in a pool of blood dead with protruding intestines.
The incident took place in Mbizo 5, Kwekwe.
Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
“It is alleged that on 27 October 2021 at about 0010 hours the now deceased Learnmore Shonhiwa was drinking beer at Phiri night club in the company of Guzeni Bayana a male aged 23 years, and Tesha Alfasi, a female adult all of Mbizo, Kwekwe. Florence Magaisa, a female aged 20 years who was also drinking in the same night club had a misunderstanding with Tesha Alfasi”, he said in a statement.
“Magaisa is alleged to have mobilised three men to harass Shonhiwa, Tesha and Guzeni. The hired men started attacking Shonhiwa and Guzeni who ran away. Guzeni was hit with an empty beer bottle on the knee and fell while the three continued chasing after Shonhiwa,” said Mahoko.
The body of the deceased was found by a passerby around 4 in the morning.
“Shonhiwa’s body was found in a pool of blood with protruding intestines. Police attended the scene, and Florence Magaisa was arrested,” he added.
Police are appealing to members of the public who might have information on Edmore Marete, and two others identified as Prosper and Gombani to report to any nearest police station, or use Police hotlines/Whatsapp and suggestion boxes dotted across the country
