Lewaz Skattah ends dry spell

GWERU based dancehall and reggae artist; Denis Mrewa popularly known as Lewaz Skattah in the music circles has ended his dry spell as he dropped a single titled ‘Nuh Pretty,’ a development he says is a way of launching himself back in the game.

The track has had good reception as it got airplay on local and national radio stations.

The budding artist says he it was always his wish to re-launch his music all in a bid to reach out to his fans.

“The coming of the Secret Code Riddim made me realize the sound I have always been looking for in music. It made me realize myself again hence the massive come back and surely, I shall be consistent from this point onwards,” Mrerwa said.

“I also love communicating with anyone, everyone through music so I also make sure that my music is with clean lyrics and obviously a touch that would relate with hordes of audiences of different generations,” he added.

Amid the two year long silence, Skattah has been working around the music industry with several local artists as a producer.

He is also an artist who had made a mark during his yesteryear musical stint as he managed t tour countries like England, Uganda, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Lesotho.

Skattah was also a nominee in international awards like the Southern African Reggae Awards (SARA), ZIMAA UK Award and was named best dancehall artist in 2015.

Being no new name to the music industry, Skattah once hit the airwaves with tracks like Varikuda kundi discuser, Beat Dem Baad and in the same journey has worked with reputable local brands as Freeman, Guspy Warrior, Seh Calaz, Soul Jah Love while having shared the stage with Winky D and Jah Prayza.

Meanwhile, Skattah says he is working on his new single’s video.
