SHURUGWI: A 27-year-old woman died on the spot while five were seriously injured after a Mazda B2500 vehicle overturned along Donga Zvamatenga road Tongogara.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and advised drivers to take caution on the road.
“Circumstances are that Tawanda Mugova (27) Shurugwi was driving a Mazda B2500 carrying six passengers with him. The driver was heading southwards along the road where he lost control of the vehicle upon approaching a 1.4-kilometer peg. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned. One passenger died on the spot and the other five passengers were rushed to Shurugwi hospital”, confirmed Mahoko
Police are yet to release names of injured and deceased passengers.
Mahoko urged motorists to exercise maximum caution and to adhere to all road traffic regulations.
“Drivers should shun high speeds and also exercise caution on the road traveling within the speed limit,” further said Mahoko.
