HARARE: In a statement, Shoulder to Shoulder With Palestine (SSWP) has commended Türkiye suspension of trade with Isreal saying it was nobbled move until humanitarian aid to influence uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The organization also says the move sends a powerful message to the international communities pushing them to take action towards the suffering people of Palestine.
“In a bold and commendable move, Türkiye has suspended all trade with Israel until humanitarian aid can flow into Gaza uninterrupted. This decisive action demonstrates Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to upholding human rights and supporting the oppressed.
“By taking a stand against Israel’s aggression, Türkiye has sent a powerful message to the international community: that the suffering of the Palestinian people will no longer be ignored. The people of Gaza have faced unimaginable hardship, and Türkiye’s actions bring hope and relief to those in desperate need,” wrote SSWP chairperson in a statement.
“Türkiye’s leadership has consistently spoken out against Israel’s actions, and this suspension of trade is a tangible manifestation of their commitment to justice. We, as the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder with Palestine’ believe that this move also serves as a beacon of hope for other nations to follow suit, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demanding an end to the senseless violence.
“We commend Türkiye for their courage and moral leadership, and urge other nations to join them in supporting the people of Gaza. Together, we can make a difference and bring an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people,” added Ngara.
Shoulder to Shoulder with Palestine (SSWP) is an organisation in Zimbabwe that promotes and supports the fundamental and non-negotiable right of the Palestinian people – a right to self-determination and a State of Palestine that is free off occupation by any foreign force, law or object.
