GWERU: The Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander’s fun day lived up to its billing with the Gweru community braving the cold weather to enjoy sporting activities that were on display at the Gweru Golf Club.
The day proved that new golf stars are born every day as armatures battled for honours.
The young and the old were also treated to helicopter rides and quadbikes on the fun filled day.
“This was my first time to ride a helicopter. The experience was fun as I managed to see the whole city clearly. I wouldn’t mind doing it again and again,” a participant said.
“The whole experience was just amazing. We had enough time to interact and exchange business ideas. We should have more of such activities,” another participant added.
Businessman and former Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce President, Dr Tinashe Manzungu who was the guest of honour urged the cooperate world to continue supporting the event whose proceeds will be channelled to the less privileged in society.
“I am very delighted to be addressing you at the auspicious occasion. It is always an honour to see the corporate world coming together for a worthy cause. We have managed to interact and exchange business ideas in the field of play. We are delighted to have people who value the charity works being spearheaded by our commander of defence forces,” Dr Manzungu said.
The best on the day walked away winners after excelling in the charity cup.
