HARARE: South Africa-based upcoming reggae musician Advocate I, real name Gabriel Muchanyu has released his debut six-track EP titled Royal devotion. The EP has been receiving favorable responses from reggae music lovers on social media platforms.
The youthful musician has worked with various producers from Uganda, Malawi, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Muchanyu said his splendid performance on the EP is a result of hard work and dedication.
“I have worked with four production companies from different countries that are Shumba Productions in South Africa, Tuff Lion Music Productions in Malawi, Big Spit Music Productions in Uganda, and a local Riverbank Records Company,” Muchanyu said.
Although he is more of a reggae musician, he is also flexible with any musical genre.
Sometimes I do Afrobeats or Dancehall because I don’t want to limit myself. I enjoy experimenting with various sounds,” he added.
Muchabvu has three singles titled, Ngatigare Murudo, Long Distance Love, and Up and Down. He said he will continue dropping more singles and EPs in the future.
He encouraged upcoming musicians to learn from established musicians and take advice from them. Machanyu also advised some young musicians to desist from abusing drugs and focus on doing their best to develop themselves.
