NINE rounds have been played so far and Sheasham FC has scored seven goals in round nine against Gokwe North FC in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League last Saturday at Bata Stadium.
Sweswe coached side managed to pocket maximum points with seven goals and were three goals ahead of FC Wangu Madzodze City and Blanket Mine FC who scored fours goals in the same fixture.
Central Region week nine fixture conceded twenty-four goals and it was in favour of all home teams winning except Bishpostone FC and West Nicholson who shared spoils with their opponents.
Sheasham’s crucial win 7-0 over the new boys Gokwe North FC showed a sign of a team work, hard working as they are currently sitting on third position of the log standing with a point behind the competing leaders Dulibadzimu and Tongogara with eighteen points.
Lizwe Sweswe said goals doesn’t mean a lot to him, he believed in winning games but later encouraged the boys to get more goals as he said,
“l believe in three points even though scores can count somewhere somehow. What is important is if we can get those goals, we pocket them.
“You never know maybe at the end of the season the Championship is going to be determined by goal differences but l think winning a game is very important so that you won’t rely on goal differences,” said Sweswe.
Gokwe North FC is however in the relegation zone with three points on log standings.
Patrick Togara coached side goalkeeper Nicholas Bhudhiyo expressed his thoughts towards their defeats.
“Travelling has affected our performance. We travel long distances and never have time to rest before matches. If we could get well-wishers to sponsor us towards other lacking aspects towards professional football our act will also improve,” Bhudhiyo said.
Coach Patrick Togara also reiterated that adequate resources were a challenge that had affected the team’s performance.
Ambitious Gweru side Sheasham FC’s next assignment is to travel to Simbi Stadium to face Black Eagles on Saturday.
