GWERU-based Division One side Sheasham Football Club unveiled new players and football kits ahead of the new season at a colourful ceremony held in the city on Saturday night.

The Division One outfit has laid the foundation as it waits for ZIFA to make announcements on when games for the lower division teams will commence.

The Construction Boys, who lost the ticket to the topflight league on the final day, after losing one-nil at Dulibadzimu stadium, are leaving nothing to chance as they paraded new players who will be part of John Nyikadzino’s charges this season.

The new acquisitions include Felix Chindungwe, Nigel Koko Mupinduki, Prince Dube and Ricky Chandipabota, with the club’s leadership upbeat of better fortunes this time around.

Club President Clever Mandaza who promised the team all his support said he believes that this season his team will make it to Premiership football.

“Our goal is to build a well-structured team with defined roles. Last season we almost did it and this time I believe it’s ours. God has his time and we assume it’s near and when that time comes go there and shine. We are prepared to offer you all your needs for you to deliver,” Mandaza said.

Veteran football commentator who was also guest of honor, Charles Mabika said the team needs to stay united and also to have a clear description of duties lest they risk crumbling down.

“Although the club is formidable there is need for unity of purpose. A lot of soccer projects crumble due to lack of direction. Be united no one is greater than the family. I look forward to see you in premiership in 2023,” Mabika said.

Sheasham FC who have adopted Gweru Sports Club as their new home ground, also unveiled new home and away as well as training kits as a morale booster to the boys ahead of the season.
