SHURUGWI: A Shurugwi gold panner is on the run after he murdered his accomplice for calling his girlfriend a whore.
It is alleged that the accused only identified as Chitova in the company of one other only identified as Rasta were gathered on fire at Big Valley Mine in Shurugwi where the former called his girlfriend whom the now deceased Simbarashe Maidza (22) referred to as a prostitute.
CommuTalk is informed that this did not go well with Chitova who picked glowing firewood and struck the now deceased on the forehead and he fell down on the ground.
Chitova is also said to have informed the late Maidza’s cousin, Nyashadzashe Mhlanga (29) who rushed to the scene and ferried the now deceased to Shurugwi District Hospital.
Maidza however did not make it.
The case was reported to the police and is being investigated under RRB number 4871476.
