BIKITA: Bikita Minerals has donated two prefabricated houses to Sanangwe and Zvido Primary Schools in Masvingo West to help ease the challenges of staff accommodation.
Sanangwe headmistress Agneta Musemwa said shortages of teacher accommodation had been a huge challenge for the school and the coming of the prefabricated house at the school was a relief as school teachers will be able to get a decent accommodation.
Musemwa also said teachers will be able to execute their duties well as they will be having proper accommodation, a development she says will also translate to an improved pass rate.
Zvido Primary School headmaster Simeon Chinganga expressed his gratitude to Bikita Minerals for the kind gesture towards his school.
Sanangwe Primary School has an enrolment of 150 students and has 7 teachers while Zvido Primary School has 130 students.
Masvingo West Member of Parliamen Brian Mudhume further expressed gratitude saying he was excited with the help that he has received from Bikita Minerals.
He also hopes to see more assistance coming into his constituency.
“Bikita Minerals have been a very supportive partner in terms of our development project and today we have donated this fabricated house for the teachers,” Mudhume said.
Besides the recent developments, “…Bikita has contributed to various community projects such as Mara, Hwendedzo Primary Schools infrastructure projects, water and sanitation projects and road rehabilitation projects in Masvingo,” added Mudhume.
Bikita Minerals, Mine Manager, David Mwanza said Bikita Minerals has a track record of assisting schools in and around Masvingo Province and is available to assist in community development projects that uplift the lives of communities in and around Bikita.
