Sen Mavhima tests COVID-19 positive

GWERU: Midlands Minister of state for provincial affairs and devolution Senator Larry Mavhima has tested positive to COVID 19 and has self-isolated at his Gweru home where he is receiving treatment.

Confirming the report in an audio in possession of CommuTalk News; Senator Mavhima said his case should stand as a wake-up call that the pandemic is still ravaging and therefore the general populace is encouraged to keep observing set prevention measures.

“I would like to confirm I have tested positive for Covid 19 and have no serious symptoms and under good care from health experts here in the Midlands Province.Meanwhile, I am following all protocols to ensure that we do not infect others and do not get affected by others as well.

“This has however been a wake-up call that the Covid-19 pandemic is still hear. We should therefore listen to protocol announced by government that include masking up and social distancing,” Mavhima said.

To date, Zimbabwe has recorded 8, 374 cases, 243 deaths and 7, 927 recoveries.
