GOKWE: A 34 year old lawyer employed by the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs has been jailed to 18 years in prison after he raped his friend’s 4 year old girl.
Mike Mudara (34) appeared before Gokwe regional magistrate Lungile Ncube on Thursday facing one count of rape.
He pleaed not guity to the charge but Ncube found him guilty and convicted him.
For the State, Melisa Makombe told the court that some time early last year Mudhara’s close friend had a brawl with someone in the neighbourhood and he decided to take away his four year old juvenile to Mudhara for safe keep.
He asked Mudhara to be on the lookulout of the kid as he feared the agressor might come back home and harm the juvenile as well.
The court heard that on the same day Mudara then approached the girl and asked her to lie down on the sofa.
He lied to the minor that he wanted to administer some medicine on her.
Mudhara, the court heard then raped the minor once and later threatened to beat her up if she opens up to anyone about the incident.
It is the state’s case that the minor’s aunt saw the girl scretching her private parts over and over thus when the girl later opened up about the incident leading to the arrest of Mudhara.
