KWEKWE Central Member of Parliament, Masango Matambanadzo has died.

He was 56.

Matambanadzo, populary known as Blackman has been battling ill health since the beginning of the year following suspected food poisoning.

He died at his Amaveni home in the early hours of today.

A popular figure with the electorate in Kwekwe, Blackman was the only Member of Parliament to win the 2018 harmonised elections on the National People’s Patriotic Front (NPF) ticket after he trounced an equally popular MDC Alliance candidate, Blessing Chebundo.

NPF Spokesperson Jelousy Mawarire has since confirmed the incidence as sad and said the party will issue a statement soon.

“Receiving very sad news that our legislator, our only MP, Matambanadzo is no more. It is a very sad day for us as a party and as a country,” Mawarire wrote this morning on Twittwer.

Blackman made headlines soon after winning the 2018 elections by moving around the streets of Kwekwe while carried on shoulders by his bouncers amid wild celebrations.
